In 1928, dancers Santos Casani and Jose Lennard demonstrated the “Sugar Step” in an instructional video entitled “The Sugar Step Made Easy.” That video has been made available for viewing on youtube by British Pathe:

It seems that Mr. Casani and Ms. Lennard were a well respected dancing pair in Great Britain. A number of their instructional videos are available for viewing on the British Pathe channel.
